if Python repaired the power and then the grid was configured before 9am. However, a crash can still be reliably reproduced where the game freezes at 9am when waiting by the console. Now that I modded the game, doing that works no matter what my choices are for the quest.
#FALLOUT NEW VEGAS GOG VERSION GENERATOR#
What worked for me was to wait until after it was already 9am to repair the generator and set the power grid, then go flip the switch.

Reverting to a saved game slightly before starting the entire quest wasn't enough. Installing these wasn't enough because the first time I ran the game to try and recreate the crash that I was having for the That Lucky Old Sun side quest, it still crashed. Some of these mods have been updated in the last few months, so the updated version would be worth trying for anyone who already has it. NVAC "anti-crash" (+ the process ghosting fix) This is what I would suggest, at a minimum:
#FALLOUT NEW VEGAS GOG VERSION INSTALL#
I'd suggest anyone playing this game is basically required to install some game-fixing mods, or they can expect a frustrating game. By using some mods I can get past some crashes now! I'll check out the video next time I try to get the game working again.ĭabner: You should install some mods like : It's obviously not something about the GOG version that makes it buggy and CTD all the time. I didn't know about the LAA fix being applied to the GOG version, that's really good. My only criticism of the vid is it tries to cover too many different ways of doing the fixes and pushes MO2 mod manager too much, but the manual methods are in there too and after re-watching and pausing it a few times I got through it all.

That guide was developed by and for the TTW supermod, but the fixes work for regular NV installations too. HOWEVER, after following the YouTube video "Fallout New Vegas | FPS & Stability (definitive guide)" by gamerpoets, my NV is as smooth as silk. I have win7 圆4 and both games (on a late core2duo PC, with a gt1030 card), and initially I had the same experience as you, BUT it isn't GOG's fault it's NV which was a rushed sequel and well known to be as glitchy and crash-happy as hell. Streetyson: Firstly, they aren't identical because GOG's version comes LAA (large-address aware, aka 4GB patched) whereas last time I checked Steam's needs patching.
